BLACKSMITH WITH HORSE 8-DAY CUCKOO CLOCK

Our all-wood mechanical 8-day clock is a masterpiece of Black Forest clock workmanship. Individually hand-placed shingles form the gabled roof, and masterfully carved figurines, including a blacksmith, a horse, a little dog and numerous fir trees, adorn the front yard surrounding the chalet. The timber-frame facade features a clock dial and hands made of walnut, an Edelweiss blossom decorating the balcony, fret-cut birds flanking the cuckoo's housing and antlered stag heads decorating the front facades which feature laser-cut heart shapes and ornamental flourishes that complement the window shutters. When the clock strikes the hour, the cuckoo calls and the blacksmith pounds his anvil with a hammer in time with the cuckoo's calls. Clock housing measures 13 1/2" H x 13 1/2" W, not including the pine cone weights and pendulum. Made in Germany by Engstler Schwarzwalduhren.
