Carved Cross Of St. Francis Of Assisi From Italy’s South Tyrol. Meticulously hand-carved of a solid single piece of Alpine maple wood and hand-stained in Italy’s Grödner Tal (Val Gardena) by Dolfi®, our sculpted cross showcasing the humble friar and founder of the Franciscan order on a cross with outstretched arms surrounded by doves beautifully captures his willingness to take up the cross of Christ and serve as an instrument of God’s peace. The recently deceased pope was so inspired by St. Francis’ humility, holiness, and love for the poor, that he became the first pope in history to take his name. Note the gilded accents forming the outline of the cross as well as St. Francis’ halo. A tiny gold-tone metal fixture on the back allows for easy attachment to a wall. Each is a unique sculped work of art, approx. 4” H x 3¼” W. Made in Italy.
