According to a German legend, this magical chalice was devised by a young goldsmith in Nurnberg to win the hand of his beloved. Her father would only allow the marriage if the young man performed what seemed to be an impossible task: make a chalice from which two people can drink at the same time without spilling a drop. And so is was, and here it is, beautifully handcrafted of solid polished pewter and intricately detailed in ornate raised relief. The female figure's skirt is the drinking cup for the groom; the swivel cup she is holding in her hands above her head is for the bride. Includes the Bridal Cup legend. Made in Germany. 7" H.
